ITINERARY

The adventure begins at the Chapel of Chataquila, perched at 3,665 meters above sea level on the edge of the Cordillera de los Frailes. From here, you descend along an Inca trail towards Chaunaca, taking in sweeping landscapes along the way. Once you reach Chaunaca, your vehicle picks you up and takes you to the Ravelo River, where you can take a break and swim if you like. From there, the route continues across the river to the crater of Maragua.
Prefer to take it easy and enjoy the scenery from the car? The trip is just as rewarding. Around the villages there is plenty to discover. locals are happy to share their weavings and way of life, and you can visit the cemetery, the waterfalls, and the Sacred Cave beneath the waterfall in Maragua. One small note. keep an eye out for brown snakes in the more humid areas.
The entrance fee for the Inca trail is included in your tour. This fee goes directly to the local communities who care for and maintain the area’s attractions. Whether you prefer a full hike or a more relaxed visit to the communities, the choice is entirely yours.
