You should bring some cash with you as you might want to purchase a souvenir here.
We continue on our drive for a further 30 minutes before we find our secret launch spot, We will ready the equipment , inflate the kayaks and recieve a safety briefing about the day. Once the kayaks are ready (approximately 11am – although traffic in El Alto can effect our timings) we will start paddling out onto the lake and after about 30 to 45 minutes of kayaking we will reach a small beach on an island and we will spend some time exploring. There are wonderful views from here of the mountains and we will stop to take photos and take in the scenery. We will spend about 30 minutes here (until approx 1pm) and have a snack before returning to the kayaks.
We continue to paddle across the lake admiring the wonderful views and taking in the fresh air. Depending on the speed of out group we should arrive to a pebble beach near a village at about 3pm, where we will rest. After the all the exercise and fresh air we should have worked up an appetite and after packing up the equipment we will drive to the village of Huatajata and have our lunch.
